Well what a busy term we have had, with 119 examinations in Ballet, Modern and Tap. Everyone, except those too young or who didn’t want to take them, has been examined. Well done to you all.
All we have left to do is to wish good luck to everyone taking part in the Finals of the All England Dance Competition from 22nd to 30th July. We have one solo, two duets and eight groups taking part. Have a great time everyone and enjoy yourselves!
Autumn term
- Next term: 10th September to 10th December (12 weeks)
- Half-term: Saturday 22nd October to Sunday 30th October
Please could you fill out this short form for each of your children dancing with us, to confirm which subjects they are taking next term? I promise it won’t take long!
Next term the class timetable has slightly changed.
Please make sure that students are wearing uniform for classes. If you’re not sure, please take a look at our uniform page.
We are contemplating moving the Foundation Contemporary class to a Thursday at 4:15pm.If your child already takes this class (currently on Fridays at 5pm), could you please respond to this email and let me know whether they could make Thursday at 4:15pm?If your child is unable to do Contemporary on a Friday, but would like to join a Thursday Contemporary class, please reply to this email and let us know.Many thanks.
Autumn dance festivals
Festivals for next term are:
- Mid-Somerset (Frome) Festival – Friday 16th to Sunday 18th September. Adjudicator Karen Blackburn
- Weymouth Dance Festival – Saturday 22nd to Thursday 27th October. Adjudicator Angela Whittle
Lesann would like to call in her Inter Ballet Festival Group soon for a long rehearsal to complete it in one fell swoop. She will let group members know the rehearsal date and time as soon as possible.
Enjoy the summer break, safe in the knowledge that there are no exams or display next term, just two festivals, technique and stretching!
