Imogen pirouettes off to Central School of Ballet

We always feel a bit emotional at this time of year, as members of our dance family fly the nest…

But we also get lots of opportunities to burst with pride. Here’s Imogen – who joined us aged two – and who’s just started her degree course at Central School of Ballet.

Starting at WDS with ballet, Imogen soon added modern and tap to her skills, and became a wonderful dancer. She competed at festivals, and won the Bournemouth Classical Championships one year with her ballet and ’99 Red Balloons’ routines 🎈. Imogen competed as a soloist and in groups at All England Finals (this year as part of our ‘Sweet Chariot’ modern group). In 2017 she and Mollie represented the studio at the Dance World Cup, performing their modern duet.

Imogen completed the entire Royal Ballet Associates Programme, starting aged eight as a Junior Associate and progressing through Mid-Associates and Senior Associates, until she was 16 years old. Her final exam while at WDS saw her gain a distinction in Advanced 1 Ballet.

Although Imogen had her pick of schools to go on to, her first choice was Central School of Ballet, and we send her off with masses of love and good wishes for the future – she is definitely one to watch! Good luck, Imogen, we’ll miss you loads, but can’t wait to see your journey progress. xxx
